  Dansk, don't you just love the way the dubs manage to take a tragedy and twist it to their hatred filled teachings?
  

  I got so sick to death of the bitterness and lack of any humanity in their teachings, it is infuriating that they get their jollies out of other people's suffering. I lost count of the number of rediculous stories you would hear at meetings or conventions where African villages would be attacked and the one guy who had not bothered going to the meeting that sunday got killed because of his lack of faith, I suspect they were all BS used to berate the flock.

  Are they still completely unprepared to do humanitarian or charity work?

  i've been reading some sad experinces here... i dont see anyone talking about the bible... only how misserables the organization made their lives... ok ...so because of that...now i have permission to smoke marijuana and commit fornication?

  this sounds pretty much like aa... and everybody having his/her personal "superior power" who is giving them the permit to do whatever they want...

  i've been df for 4 years now and also dont agree with some jw teachings... why instead of blaming the wt for everything dont we look for the real truth in the bible and make things right.

  we've all been there; the feeling of being robbed does pass, and then you start enjoying the feeling of being able to discover your own direction through life, and find that you discover who YOU are and what YOU think about things.
  

  It's tough to begin with but accept and move on, you can only control what happens today and tomorrow, not yesterday. In time it will be nothing more than a painful memory.

  Lots of Bethelites Not Happy With Downsizing

  i had a long conversation last night with an old jw friend whose sister and brother-in-law are bethelites since the 1970s.

  she is an artist, and he runs a small but important department there.. we were talking about the bethel downsizing (my friend was well aware of it), and i told him i figured his sister and b-i-l would be safe due to the fact that they are now in their 60s and have something close to 4 decades seniority.

  but he said no, that they were worried that they would be asked to leave as well, sent into the circuit work or as special pioneers sent where the "need is great.".

  and still noone has answered my question as to what is happening at Bethel.

  So what gives? Do they not have enough suckers putting money in the box each month to support the lavish real estate empire? Have they run out of cash and decided to sell off the Brooklyn bethel?

  Is there one thing that keeps you from going back?

  i had email contact this week for the first time with an old boyfriend--haven't seen him in 28 years!

  i'm trying to compose an answer...there are a hundred reasons why i will never go back, but how to sum it up?

  i'm thinking along the lines of "i just don't believe that the society/gb is god's representative on earth" and see if he presses further.. suggestions, anyone?.

  read it, saw it, loved it. It's a great story although they tried to cra, too much into the film. i am looking forward to when they film Angels and Demons

  i'm sure normal people in the uk don't refer to their spouse or partner as their "mate", or talk about seeking a mate.

  It's just one of those things that allows you do dehumanise people, if you think of them as nothing more than a fulfillment of a function then it is easier for you to shun them if they decide not to do as the governing body decree. It means you get less attached to people, rather than the organisation; just think, if your partner was the centre of your universe, your other half, then how many people would leave the borg if their partner saw through the bullshit?
